


Zouhair Mtazi is a dynamic Moroccan-Dutch actor making waves on both the national and international stage. Known for his compelling, high-intensity performances in hit crime-dramas like Mocro Maffia, Triq Salama, and Sihame, Zouhair consistently brings a magnetic presence to the screen. He earned widespread critical acclaim for his standout performance as a formidable antagonist in the international Netflix feature Line of Fire (De Vuurlinie), directed by Hollywood powerhouse Roel Reiné.
On stage, Zouhair is an equally commanding force, regularly collaborating with some of Europe’s most visionary directors. His impressive theater credits include Agaath Witteman’s The Eye of the Storm (Het Oog van de Storm), where he shared the stage with Dutch acting royalty Hans Croiset, Anne Wil Blankers, and Johanna ter Steege. He also starred in Dries Verhoeven’s internationally acclaimed immersive installation Phobiarama. Demonstrating his versatility as both a creator and performer, Zouhair wrote and starred in his own solo show, SUPERMAN, which captivated audiences at the prominent De Parade theater festivals in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
Zouhair’s exceptional range and raw talent have earned him significant industry recognition. A favorite on the film festival circuit, he is a two-time ‘Best Actor’ winner at the 48 Hour Film Project Rotterdam for his roles in Hitchcock-Hitchcock and The Little Astronaut (De Kleine Astronaut). His collaborative strength was celebrated globally when he, alongside co-stars Rienus Krul and Dennis Coenen, took home the international award for ‘Best Acting Ensemble’ for the film Leakage (Lekkage). The absolute crowning achievement of his career so far came at Filmapalooza in Los Angeles, where Zouhair won the prestigious ‘Best Actor International Award’ for his brilliant lead performance in The Little Astronaut.
The future looks incredibly bright for this rising star. He secured his first international role in the high-profile feature film People of the Book, starring alongside Hollywood heavyweights Jason Isaacs and Gael García Bernal. While expanding his global footprint, Zouhair remains dedicated to groundbreaking work at home; he will star in AZC Gouden Bergen, a highly anticipated, large-scale immersive theater production with the renowned Theater Rotterdam.
